Thrilla: Talent Booking Platform
Thrilla is a platform built for today's talent industry, connecting creatives — dancers, photographers, musicians, makeup artists, and more — with clients looking to book them for events and productions, with guaranteed, on-time payouts. I joined as part of a 9-person cross-functional team (1 backend, 2 full-stack, 3 frontend, 1 QA, 1 PM, 1 designer) working for Digitality, a Dubai-based digital agency, on an ongoing Upwork engagement. My focus was the client-side experience: onboarding, job posting, and the full invitation-and-response lifecycle connecting clients with talent — delivered across both backend and frontend.
  • Built the end-to-end client sign-up and onboarding flow, from initial registration through profile completion.
  • Implemented full-stack validation spanning frontend forms and backend business rules to keep client data consistent and trustworthy from the first interaction.
  • Designed and implemented the "post a job" flow, allowing clients to publish open roles that talent could discover and apply to.
  • Built the supporting data model and API layer to handle job creation, editing, and visibility rules.
  • Implemented the full interaction loop between job postings and talent responses: clients could invite specific talent to a role, and talent could apply to open postings.
  • Built accept/decline logic on both sides, keeping job and applicant state in sync across the platform in real time.
  • Coordinated this flow with the platform's role-based access model (client / talent / admin), ensuring each side only saw and acted on the data relevant to their role.
  • Collaborated closely with backend, frontend, QA, and design specialists inside a shared Nx-style monorepo codebase, aligning on shared TypeScript contracts between services.
  • Worked with a modern stack including NestJS, TypeORM, PostgreSQL, Redis, Socket.IO, and RabbitMQ on the backend, and Next.js, React 19, TanStack Query, and Sanity CMS on the frontend.
  • Next.js (React 19)
  • TanStack Query
  • React Hook Form + Zod
  • Sanity CMS
  • Tailwind CSS
  • NestJS
  • TypeORM
  • PostgreSQL
  • Redis (Socket.IO adapter)
  • RabbitMQ
  • AWS S3
  • Monorepo, shared TypeScript domain contracts
  • Sentry for monitoring
  • Team-based Git workflow with code review
The client onboarding, job posting, and invitation/application flows I built form a core part of how clients and talent connect on Thrilla. The engagement with Digitality is ongoing, reflecting continued trust in the team's delivery as the platform heads toward public launch.
